Service area

Where We Travel

We're based at 400 W California Ave in Sunnyvale, and most of our calls stay within a short drive of that shop. That means Heritage District a mile south, Sunnyvale West two miles southwest, Old Mountain View three miles west, and Cuesta Park a few minutes further out. We also run jobs out to Mountain View, Los Altos, Cupertino, and Loyola, and we'll go as far as Palo Alto, Stanford, or Saratoga when the job calls for it. North Los Altos and Alta Mesa are regular stops too. We don't claim to cover every town in the Bay Area, and we're honest about it when a job is outside a reasonable drive - Boulder Creek or Brookdale, for instance, are a long way out and we'd rather tell you that up front than show up late. If you're not sure whether your address is in range, call and ask; it takes thirty seconds to check against the route for the day.

Our services

What We Actually Do

This area's housing mostly went up between 1947 and 1987, with a lot of it clustered in the 1960s and 70s across the thirty or so neighborhoods we work in.

Hardware differs by era

That matters because a house built in 1964 doesn't have the same door hardware as one built in 2005 - older torsion springs, older track spacing, sometimes a panel size that newer sectional doors don't match without an adapter.

Covered repair types

We work on broken torsion and extension springs, cables, rollers, bent or off-track doors, opener motors and circuit boards, and panel sections that have taken a hit from a car bumper or a basketball.

Out of scope work

We also handle new opener installs when the old chain-drive unit finally gives out. What we don't do is custom architectural doors or anything that needs a structural header rebuild - that's a carpenter's job, not ours, and we'll tell you so instead of taking the work anyway.

What to expect

After You Call

Call 14087863362 and tell us what the door is doing - won't open, stuck halfway, makes a bang and drops, opener runs but the door doesn't move. We ask enough questions to bring the right spring size, cable length, or opener part on the truck the first time, instead of guessing and coming back. Because the climate here stays mild temperate most of the year, we're not dealing with the ice-jammed tracks or extreme heat warping that crews in harsher climates fight - most of what we see is wear from age and use, not weather damage. We'll give you a time window, and if the job turns out bigger than the phone call suggested, we'll say so before we start, not after the bill.

Our team

Who Does the Work

The people who show up at your door are the same people who answer the phone and load the truck - there's no dispatch layer between you and the person turning the wrench. We work mostly in houses from the 1947 to 1987 era, which means we're used to torsion hardware that doesn't match what's sold off the shelf today, and we keep a working knowledge of what parts those older setups actually take. With median household income in this service area over $207,000 and roughly 110,000 owner-occupied houses spread across it, we see a wide range of doors - from a basic single steel door to a heavier insulated double - and we price the job for what's actually wrong, not a flat-rate guess.

Questions

Common questions

Do you work on older torsion spring setups from the 1960s?

Yes. A good share of the houses we work on were built between 1947 and 1987, and a lot of those still have original torsion hardware. We carry spring sizes and cable lengths sized for that era, not just whatever's standard on new doors today.

How far from Sunnyvale will you travel for a repair?

We stay mostly within a few miles of our shop at 400 W California Ave - Heritage District, Sunnyvale West, Old Mountain View, and similar distances. We'll also take jobs out to Mountain View, Los Altos, Cupertino, and a bit further, but we're upfront if an address is too far for the day's route.

Do you install new garage doors, or only repair?

We handle opener installs and panel or hardware replacement when repair isn't worth it anymore. We don't build custom architectural doors or do structural header work - that's outside what we do, and we'll point you elsewhere rather than take a job we're not set up for.

Why doesn't the mild climate here matter much for garage doors?

Because the area sits in a mild temperate band, we don't see the ice-cracked tracks or heat-warped panels that crews in harsher climates deal with. Most of what breaks here is from age and daily use on older hardware, not weather.
